Welcome to the Engineers Forum on Sustainability!

The mission of the Forum, established in 1997, is "To help promote the principles and practice of sustainable development by: (1) providing a meeting place for interdisciplinary discussion and exchange of information; (2) identifying and distributing information on engineering education programs that incorporate sustainable development; (3) encouraging practicing engineers to apply sustainable development principles and participate in sustainable development programs and activities at local, regional, and national levels; and (4) keeping abreast of international developments that can contribute to global sustainability.

SPOTLIGHTS

  • The Ocean Exchange The 2013 invitation for Solution Registrations seeks to attract Solutions that LEAP TO ZERO. Innovations that generate economic growth and increased productivity, while reducing the use of nature's resources and waste.   • This report has been provided to all members of congress and is being widely distributed in the NGO community. A congressional forum on the report is planned for mid-May. Please click on the link above to view the report and check back here for more updates. 

  •  The Working Group III (WGIII) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) welcomes you to contribute to the Government and Expert Review of the Second Order Draft (SOD). The review runs from 25 February - 22 April, 2013.

  •  The United Engineering Foundation has provided AIChE’s International Society for Water Solutions and ASCE and AIME’s Member Societies (SME, SPE, AIST and TMS), with a grant to develop a workshop series focused on engineering solutions to one of humanity’s grand challenges--water.
